Why didn’t I learn that all those years ago!

I hear this often when I coach people, and on occasion, I have been there myself.

Why wasn’t I told about this, why I didn’t learn that insight years ago, my life would have been so much easier. I wouldn’t have gone through all that shit all those years!

What are we actually doing when we are reacting this way, to an eye opener, a new lesson learned?

We are actually pointing out not to what we actually learned in that moment, but instead we are dishing ourselves by doing something what is called character assassination, we put ourselves down, we stomp on our stupidity … yes … we are actually calling ourselves … STUPID!.

We get angry and stop learning the good and we start learned the bad side of things.

This might lead to us accepting less teachings in the beginning, because we might react that way again.

Instead of feeling the glow of self-development, we stomp on our own self-destruction.

Self-hate instead of self-love …

Next time … love yourself by accepting this new insight, this new learning and step onto the next stepping stone of progress and growth.

And remember, just because you just experience a clear moment of learning, that does not mean that the lesson is finished, and to embrace the teachings, that takes an open mind and focus on do’s rather than the did not’s
